DriveMe! Driver Experience Centre

Seighford

DriveMe is a national organisation offering opportunities and training in a variety of activities across the UK, centred on recreational driving experiences.  White Design have been taken on to design their new base at Seighford in order to create a carbon neutral building that will offset emissions from the high performance cars.

A fully integrated environmental strategy is not only possible for the building and site, but also desirable. By using local materials and sensitive forms, the building will seem part of its context and location, enabling it to be at the centre of the experience without negatively impacting on the environment.

The building will employ a range of sustainable strategies and systems in order to limit wastage of energy and resources.  Working alongside the timber structure will be technologies such as solar energy generation, a biomass boiler and reed bed system to organically filter and process waste.

It is also the intention that a portion of every driver’s fee will go towards the planting of trees, which will offset some of the carbon as well as providing a source of non-fossil fuel to provide heat and power to the building.
