Elly Deacon
Elly joined White Design in August 2005 and has recently successfully completed her RIBA part III examination in professional practice. She is involved in a number of projects within the office, including the Dalby Forest Visitor Centre, a Sure Start Community Centre in Manchester and a solid timber extension to Woodpecker Eco House.
Having completed a diploma in Architecture and the Arts, Elly was able to explore the relationship between architecture and sculpture and develop a keen interest in design, aesthetics and composition. Her education at the Hereford Steiner School gave her a strong basis in sustainable principles and an interest in how buildings affect the people who inhabit and use them.
Projects with White Design have included working on the Knowle West Media Centre (Bristol), Rolls Crescent Primary School (Manchester), Bordeaux Quay (a restaurant in Bristol) and the Dalby Forest Visitor Centre.
Prior to joining White Design, Elly spent a year in practice with Freeland Rees Roberts Architects in Cambridge. She worked on a number of new build and conversion projects in sensitive conservation areas, including Cambridge University colleges.
