All too often there is an assumption that designing for sustainability comes at a premium. White Design has demonstrated, through many built examples, that it need not cost more. On the contrary, it can cost less and deliver outcomes in terms of health, well being and increased productivity that make designing for sustainability good business sense.

White Design, Willmott Dixon and supply chain partners developed the rethinking concept together and over the past 4 years have delivered a series of award winning projects that have not only fully met, but have exceeded our clients expectations.

Re-thinking is an approach that ensures that each part of the development supply chain is fully understood by every other part. By all participants in the supply chain having a clear understanding of the requirements of their supply chain partners, improved outcomes are guaranteed. This understanding allows for better design of buildings. For example, if designers have not considered how their supply chain partners will actually deliver their design or specification choices, difficulties can arise. On the other hand, if design and specification choices are made with the full knowledge of the potential of their supply chain partners to deliver, design becomes more effective and deliverable, better and more affordable buildings result and our clients objectives and expected outcomes are more easily met.
